NH Life Sciences Welcomes MilliporeSigma as Fourth Founding Member

Keyspin Manufacturing, Sequence Biotech, Foxx Life Sciences, and the Community College System of NH also join the State’s Life Sciences Association, showcasing excitement and interest across the value chain about the life sciences industry and its growth in the Granite State.

BEDFORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE - NH Life Sciences (NHLS) announced today that MilliporeSigma in Jaffrey, NH is now the organization’s fourth founding member. MilliporeSigma joins Novocure, NovoNordisk and Timberline Construction in taking a leadership-stake in forming the Granite State’s life sciences association—built by the industry, for the industry. The addition of MilliporeSigma, as well as new membership from companies and organizations representing the broad life sciences ecosystem in the state marks a significant milestone in the formation of NHLS and the collective interest in the advancement of the life sciences in NH across the value chain.

MilliporeSigma is the U.S. and Canada life science business of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, which has more than 28,000 employees and more than 55 total manufacturing and testing sites worldwide, with a portfolio of more than 300,000 products focused on scientific discovery, biomanufacturing and testing services. Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, a leading science and technology company, operates across healthcare, life science and electronics.

“This is an exciting and pivotal moment for New Hampshire Life Sciences (NHLS)”, said Andrea Hechavarria, President and CEO of NHLS. “MilliporeSigma is a leader in life sciences and their commitment to NHLS as a Founding Member shows the vested interest and importance of advancing the life sciences industry in the state. Together with our other founding members, MilliporeSigma will serve in a leadership role in driving collaboration and strategic direction across the state to strengthen the entire life sciences industry.”

In addition to MilliporeSigma, Keyspin Manufacturing, Sequence Biotech, Foxx Life Sciences, and the Community College System of NH also join the State’s Life Sciences Association. All five of these members showcase the diversity of NH’s life sciences ecosystem, representing the pharmaceutical development and manufacturing, biotech, medical device, lab equipment and supplies, and academic sectors.

Foxx Life Sciences, a bioprocess and research products company headquartered in NH with two facilities in Salem and Londonderry, are early supporters of NHLS. “Andrea and Cindy Conde (co-founder of NHLS) have done an incredible job pulling together the leading life sciences companies in the state,” said Thomas Taylor, Founder and CEO of Foxx Life Sciences. “As the fastest growing, family-owned NH life sciences company in the state over the past 15 years, we are extremely excited to be a part of this great organization.”

The 2023 New Hampshire Life Sciences Industry Assessment and Strategy Report found that, “in New Hampshire, life sciences is a strong economic contributor, and the state has the foundational assets and competitive factors to continue growing the industry. While the state's proximity to the world's largest life sciences cluster in Boston amplifies opportunities, New Hampshire's life sciences assets represent subindustries that are well-suited to leverage industry dynamics and continue growth trajectories in the state.”

Building off the inaugural academic partnership with the University of NH, NHLS is pleased to welcome the membership of the Community College System of NH (CCSNH). As life sciences companies of all sizes look to expand in the state and prepare today’s workforce for the future, CCSNH will play a critical role in engaging with industry to build curriculum and programs that NH companies need to remain at the cutting edge of innovation and to continue to attract and retain workforce talent to the Granite State.

"CCSNH is glad to partner with NHLS and to contribute to the broader efforts to meet New Hampshire's workforce needs in life sciences,” The life sciences, and the interplay of this industry with healthcare and manufacturing will be vital to New Hampshire’s future and we look forward to partnering with NHLS to build educational pathways for our students to contribute to that work said Dr. Mark Rubinstein, CCSNH Chancellor."
